ANTIGONE
Hamilton‚ NY 13346
Sophocles timeless play pits a fearless and defiant woman against an insecure and untested ruler, with unforeseen and tragic consequences for both. No drama in the western canon has more to teach a modern audience about the perennial conflict between family and state, or between divine law and human edict, or between man and woman. The question it poses is how far are we prepared to go to stand up for what we believe in and what are the consequences for those we love when we go to the very limit and beyond. Made possible by the Colgate Classics Department. Directed by Professor Robert Garland. FREE, BUT RESERVE TICKETS. Two Shows: Fri and Sat at 8pm.
