LGH19 Productions has announced details of a major live event it will produce on Saturday evening, August 2, 2014, on the same stage where the 2014 Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place six days earlier. The live event will feature some of the music industry's top recording artists, as well as celebrities from the world of film, television and baseball, and take place in Cooperstown, New York on the pastoral grounds of the Clark Sports Center in a benefit for the National Baseball Hall Of Fame & Museum, just weeks after it's 75th Anniversary. Special musical guests include the world renowned Boston Pops Orchestra, who will serve as the "house band" for the evening. Celebrate the Bounty of the Region from 5:00 - 7:30pm. Local Foods, Local Spirits is an initiative to raise awareness of the region's agricultural diversity, promote local agricultural food businesses and their products, and connect producers to both commercial and individual customers in a meaningful way. The 2014 celebration will feature up to 20 local restaurant chefs, paired with local grower 'teams' to offer a signature dish for tasting. Brewers and distillers will be on hand for tastings as well. In the course of planning the event, market manager Lyn Weir has contacted over 70 restaurants to promote the Local Foods campaign and to build business-to-business relationships with producers. Tickets $35.00 are on sale starting June 15th online at: http://www.otsego2000.org/local-foods-local-spirits-celebration/ and on July 5th at the Cooperstown Farmers Market. Proceeds benefit Otsego 2000 agricultural programs and the Local Foods, Local Spirits initiative.

Based on Theodore Dreiser's novel and inspired by a sensational murder trial in Herkimer, New York, Tobias Picker's opera explores a small-town boy's pursuit of his idealized dreams. An American Tragedy, Picker's fourth opera, premiered at the Metropolitan Opera in 2005 to great acclaim. The Glimmerglass production celebrates the composer's 60th birthday and marks the premiere of the newly revised version by the composer and librettist.
